Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and feeding
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure and temperature
- Assist with mobility and transfers, ensuring patient safety
- Collect specimens for laboratory testing, including venipuncture and urine samples
- Assist with sterile processing of medical equipment and supplies
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
- Provide support to patients with dementia or other cognitive impairments
- Assist with procedures such as spinal taps or wound care
- Collaborate with the nursing team to ensure quality patient care
Skills:
- Acute care experience preferred
- Knowledge of sterile processing techniques
- Familiarity with medical records systems
- Ability to perform venipuncture and collect specimens
- Experience in caring for patients with dementia or cognitive impairments
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team
